O.D.D. Luna is an "Onafhankelijk Damesdispuut" in Dutch, which translates to an "independent women's sorority." Keep reading to learn more about our history, mission, and goals.

Our History
In September 2002 a group of women gathered in a well-known restaurant in downtown Utrecht after a night of partying, and had just been mistaken for a Dutch ‘jaarclub’. This got these women thinking. As a result of this thinking and discussion with more women, the UCU sorority Luna was born on the 12th of October, 2002.
Vision & Values
Luna was created with the intention of providing an international English-speaking network for women attending University College Utrecht to socially interact and become friends through weekly social events. Each year, new members are accepted into Luna to foster an ever-expanding network encompassing both current UC students and alumni.

What Luna Stands For
As a sorority, Luna represents a close-knit, inclusive, international group of women that love to spend time together. Girls in Luna love to hang out, laugh and enjoy life together! All members in Luna are equal, which means that everyone is equally welcome, equally important and equally amazing. The three years that make up on campus Luna are devoted to having fun and enjoying weekly borrels, but they also strive to support fellow Lunae and give each other a hand when needed. With new members being accepted into Luna every year, the sorority fosters an ever-expanding network of current UCU students and also of alumnae. Every girl has her own qualities, experiences, and interests, which add to an interesting mix of personalities and backgrounds with-in Luna.
Support and Wellbeing
Not only does Luna stand for a fun group of friends that parties and drinks together, but we also seek to build a comfortable environment in which members can also share their struggles and issues. Whatever a member is going through, it is likely that an older member has already experienced such a situation. Therefore, all members can expect support and help from their fellow Lunae whenever they feel unwell, are in need of a shoulder to cry on, or simply for friendly advice and conversations. Every member’s well-being is a priority!
